A moment of passion, an eternal symbol of love

Robert Doisneau - Le Baiser du Trottoir
In 1950 Robert Doisneau included one of his photographs, "The Kiss by the Hotel de Ville" (Le Baiser Du Trattoir), in Life magazine. The photograph of a man and woman kissing on a populated street in Paris has become his most famous works. Not only does it represent love and romance, it also defines Paris as the city of love. The photograph has become a symbol for those around the world. Today it can be found on postcards, note cards, and posters reminding people of the romance that pervades the image of Paris.

Not many might be familiar to the photographer, the accompanying history, or the era, but surely must have come accross it - knowingly or otherwise.

A very comprehensive read on HDR photography on the "Memoirs on a Rainy Day" weblog (over at wordpress).
Havent gone through the whole of it yet, but seems interesting enough...a bit of history, along with some technical information and some theory, topped by tutorials on how to do your own HDR photography.
I hope this completely eliminates black and white photography...seriously do. The pretext of "using light" has just got too irritating !
